Mudgee Little Learners is a family owned Early Learning Centre, passionately driven to ensure the highest quality of early education and care is delivered.
Mudgee Little Learners provides a special blend of the highest quality child care and education, delivered by qualified and highly trained staff in a unique, innovative environment. At Mudgee Little Learners, we understand how precious your children are and are committed to make their happiness and growth our priority. The trained and experienced owners and staff have a genuine passion for high quality child care, teaching and learning and receive ongoing training and development. To prepare the older children for school, our qualified staff plan and prepare a weekly “School Readiness” program, which allows for both planned, structured activities and children's spontaneous ideas; this supports children to construct their own ideas, to discover, explore, and develop their own sense of agency.
We understand the importance of environmental learning and are passionate about giving the children opportunities to be in touch with the natural world and explore methods of sustainability. Our outdoor spaces have been specifically designed by award winning “Natural Playspace” designer, Tess Michaels. The goal of designing children's outdoor environments is to use the landscape and vegetation as the play setting. They offer children chances to manipulate the environment and explore, to use their imagination, to interact with nature, animals and insects, and other children. The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the National Quality Standard (NQS) acknowledge the importance of outdoor learning environments:
“Playspaces in natural environments include plants, trees, edible gardens, sand, rocks, mud, water and other elements from nature. These spaces invite open-ended interactions, spontaneity, risk-taking, exploration, discovery and connection with nature. They foster an appreciation of the natural environment, develop environmental awareness and provide a platform for ongoing environmental education.” (DEEWR, 2009, p. 16).
The philosophy of The Little Learners Group is embedded in our motto “nurture, inspire, achieve”, guided by the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework - “Belonging, Becoming and Being”.
Nurtured within the secure, friendly, centre atmosphere, the children will develop a sense of belonging. The children will be respected for their uniqueness, acknowledged for their efforts and encouraged to try new things to develop independence and growth through the fun and learning of a play based curriculum.
At Mudgee Little Learners the children are given opportunities to explore, create, problem solve and discover in an environment that supports diversity, sustainability and individuality. Becoming the person they have the potential to be, through acceptance, respect and trust. The children are inspired to respect and value the environment in which we live, giving them opportunities to understand and explore sustainability.
Being is recognised, valued and achieved through the relationships created, developed and nurtured at Mudgee Little Learners. Participation in and collaboration with families and the local community is seen as an evolving resource, essential to the development of the child’s sense of belonging. Through challenge, inquiry and creativity, the children will be encouraged to be the catalysts for their own learning, all within a safe, nurturing environment.
